Social media

Paid and organic social media campaigns play a big role at HL. Anything to do with someone’s finances are an important decision and we'd very rarely see people convert straight away. These campaigns helped us connect with our target audiences in the hope that they convert further down the funnel. HL’s approach to these campaigns was extremely collaborative, working closely with copywriters, marketing leads and other senior stakeholders. We would brainstorm several different ideas and then test selected copy and creative. We’d see some solid results from testing ad copy, with occasional uplifts in clickthrough rate of up to 5%. But the biggest wins have come from testing the creative itself. Changing the imagery or tweaking the design has, in some cases, boosted CTR by as much as 30%.
